“Take charge of your own
Destiny. Make up your mind
To expand your life.”

I believe most of us (myself included) spend way too much time and energy bemoaning our lot in life rather than proactively creating the life we truly want – the life of our dreams. However, I also believe the life of our dreams is actually within our reach. We just have to want it bad enough to create it. George Bernard Shaw, the Irish playwright, had some interesting quotes on this subject:

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.”

We get so bogged down in the practical realities of our current situation that we forget to take incremental steps each day to reach toward our dreams. Whether you want to write a book, start a business, get out of debt, make a million dollars, lose 50 pounds, make peace with your family, or send an underprivileged student to college, you can do it. Visualize where you want to be. Write down your affirmations. Create a “to do” list and start chipping away. Start today. Start now. Don’t delay. No matter how small or how basic, get started. Make the most of what you’ve got. And just like I tell my daughter all the time: “The world is yours. Now go out there and get your piece of it.” Asante Sana. Peace, Love and Blessings Always.
