How’s everybody doing today? I am frigid just like everybody else. It’s like 13 degrees Fahrenheit. But I had to allow myself to get a walk, get some air, get out of the house, and reflect on gratitude!
I love the cold weather but this is a little ridiculous. It’s a cold snap that’s dangerously freezing. Really low temperatures. I do think it’s beautiful. But the thing I wanted to talk about in terms of living a life of gratitude is that I was having a conversation with someone the other day and they were telling me that they only let themselves get distracted by social media and negative news for 15 minutes a day.
They said they’ll watch it for like maybe 15 minutes a day and then they never let a conversation go beyond that 15 minute point where they are lamenting the stuff – lamenting the craziness. After that 15 minutes is up, they go on with their lives and it gives them a sense of peace and a sense of control. And I thought – you know – that’s a good point. Because we spend a lot of time complaining about stuff and then we’re not doing anything about it. We’re outraged but the outrage is inward. We’re just raising our own cortisol and blood pressure and adrenaline for no good reason. Because it’s not providing a solution for anything. So I thought well that’s solution oriented. Don’t become consumed by all the craziness – all the bad news – all the things that are going on that are just not right and just evil. I am always trying to focus my thoughts on solutions.

And it still stands repeating that shopping small businesses, shopping local, buying Black buying Brown in mass numbers – that’s what’s going to change the whole economy. That’s what’s going to change the whole world order. If we were to harness our spending power – I’m talking to you my people of light – I’m talking to you my people of love – I’m talking to you my powerful positive people. If you want to make a change – make it in your own household. Make it within your own self. Vote with your dollars. Buy Black. Buy Brown. Buy locals . Buy small businesses. Make an impact.
So that’s my soapbox speech for today. But I do want to ask you to find some love in your heart. Find some love for yourself. And if you’re on the East Coast of the United States and it’s frigid – do stay inside and cozy. Hope you have good heat and good food and staying hydrated and all that good stuff. I love you guys! Love you so very much! Take care. Bye for now.
