Rahnda is the creator and producer of “Song of a Soul Sistah: We Sing A Black Girl’s Song” Philly Tribute to Ntozake Shange – a performance tribute film dedicated to the life and legacy of the late great literary icon featuring over 30 women poets\, vocalists\, and theater artists in the Philadelphia area.” According to the conference website\, “The Furious Flower Poetry Conference convenes every 10 years for scholars and writers from around the world to explore contemporary trends in Black literature\, culture\, and thought\, and publish a signature volume of poetry\, poetics\, and criticism to commemorate each conference.” Rize’s film\, “Song of a Soul Sistah: We Sing A Black Girl’s Song” will be screened at the Furious Flower Conference\, and Pheralyn\, who is featured in the film\, will be among the panelists discussing the film and its impact following the screening.

The work has been on view during Black History Month in two separate galleries at the Chester County Art Association. “Visions In Bronze\, Gypsum and Charcoal\,” is a solo show by Richard Blake. The group show\, “A Black Thread Through Time: A Personal Journey of Black Artists\,” features works by Lamar Brikus\, Chad Cortez Everett\, Thomas Hamilton\, Jr.\, Cardoza Jacks\, Terrill Kevyn Johnson\, Van Buren N. Payne\, Ben Richardson\, (deceased)\, Jose Sebourne\, Andy Smith\, Dane Tilghman\, R.L. Washington\, Richard Watson\, Samara Weaver\, Gilberto Wilson. Please research and follow these phenomenal artists. The artists represented here have created a legacy that is precious and enduring.
